# Deployment

Dashtray is a fully managed SaaS platform. No deployment required.

## Our Infrastructure

Dashtray runs on Convex, a serverless backend (database + functions):

* **Backend & database:** Convex (serverless, auto-scaling)
* **Push notifications:** Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
* **Real-time:** Convex realtime queries
* **Region:** EU-West-1 (Ireland)

## Getting Started

### 1. Sign Up

Download the Dashtray app and create an account in-app.

**Required:**

* Email address (or Google sign-in)
* Password

### 2. Configure Devices

1. Download the Dashtray app for [Android](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.dashtray)
2. Sign in with your account
3. Allow push notifications

### 3. Get Your API Key

1. Go to Settings → API Keys
2. Tap Generate New Key
3. Name it and save it securely

### 4. Start Using

You're ready to send notifications!

## Scalability

Dashtray scales automatically based on your usage:

* **Starter Plan:** Side projects, personal automation
* **Pro Plan:** Production use, small-to-large teams ($29/mo, extra teams $30/mo each)

No manual scaling needed. Dashtray handles everything.

## Data & Privacy

### Data Storage

* Data is stored by Convex in EU-West-1
* Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
* See the app's privacy policy for retention and deletion details

### Retention

* Notification history is purged per plan: 30 days (Starter), 1 year (Pro)
* Account data: retained until you delete your account (Settings → Account → Delete)
* Deleting an account schedules permanent deletion after 30 days

### Backups

* Managed by the Convex platform (point-in-time recovery available)
