Getting Started with Dashtray

Welcome to Dashtray! This guide will help you get up and running with your unified SaaS analytics dashboard.

What is Dashtray?

Dashtray is an AI-powered analytics dashboard that consolidates metrics from 50+ integrations (Stripe, GitHub, Vercel, Google Analytics, and more) into one beautiful interface. It replaces expensive tools like Baremetrics and ChartMogul with a single affordable solution.

Quick Start

1. Create Your Account

  1. Visit dashtray.com
  2. Click “Sign Up” in the top right
  3. Enter your email and password, or sign in with Google/GitHub
  4. Check your email for a verification link
  5. Click the verification link to activate your account

2. Create Your First Project

After signing in, you’ll be prompted to create your first project:
  1. Enter a project name (e.g., “My SaaS App”)
  2. Click “Create Project”
  3. Your project will be created with a unique slug
Note: Free tier users can create 1 project. Upgrade to Agency for unlimited projects.

3. Connect Your First Integration

  1. Click “Integrations” in the sidebar
  2. Browse available integrations or search for a specific service
  3. Click “Connect” on an integration card
  4. Enter your API credentials (see integration-specific guides below)
  5. Click “Test Connection” to verify
  6. Click “Save” to complete the connection
Note: Free tier users can connect up to 2 integrations. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited integrations.

4. View Your Dashboard

Once connected, your metrics will start syncing:
  1. Click “Overview” in the sidebar to see all your metrics
  2. Explore category dashboards (Payments, Analytics, Development, etc.)
  3. Metrics will appear as they sync from your integrations
Sync Frequency:
  • Free: Manual sync only (3 per day)
  • Pro: Every 3 hours + unlimited manual syncs
  • Scale/Agency: Every 30 minutes + unlimited manual syncs

5. Customize Your Experience

Add Bookmarks:
  1. Click “Edit” on the Overview page
  2. Click “Add Bookmark”
  3. Enter a title and URL for external services
  4. Click “Save”
Hide/Show Widgets:
  1. Click “Edit” on any dashboard
  2. Toggle widget visibility with the eye icon
  3. Drag widgets to reorder them
  4. Click “Save” to persist changes
Create Custom Dashboards (Pro+):
  1. Click “Dashboards” in the sidebar
  2. Click “New Dashboard”
  3. Enter a dashboard name
  4. Add widgets by clicking “Add Widget”
  5. Configure each widget (metric, chart type, time range)
  6. Arrange widgets with drag-and-drop
  7. Click “Save”

Understanding Your Dashboard

Overview Page

The Overview page shows:
  • Header: Current date, time range selector, refresh button
  • Widgets: All metrics from connected integrations
  • Bookmarks: Quick links to external services

Category Dashboards

Pre-built dashboards organized by category:
  • Payments: MRR, ARR, subscriptions, churn, revenue
  • Analytics: Page views, users, sessions, bounce rate
  • Development: Commits, pull requests, issues, deployments
  • Marketing: Ad spend, ROI, email metrics, campaigns
  • Communication: Messages, response times, satisfaction

Widget Types

  1. Metric Cards: Single value with trend indicator
  2. Charts: Line, bar, area, or pie charts with time series data
  3. Tables: Sortable, filterable data tables
  4. Text: Markdown notes and documentation
