Best Practices
Team Organization
✅ Do:- Use descriptive alert names
- Color-code by type (payments, deployments, etc.)
- Include team members’ names in important alerts
- Document what each alert does
- Create duplicate alerts
- Leave old unused alerts active
- Share passwords/secrets in alert names
Communication
✅ Do:- Notify team when creating important alerts
- Document template variables
- Share webhook URLs securely
- Communicate outages/issues
- Send webhook URLs over insecure channels
- Share production secrets
- Change active alerts without notifying team
Permissions
✅ Do:- Only invite who needs access
- Remove team members when they leave
- Use appropriate roles
- Audit team regularly
